Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly sized for piling high with toppings, Hamburger Sliders Recipe delivers everything you love about a classic burger in mini form. Cooked on a griddle or cast iron pan - not baked - these real-deal sliders get those crave-worthy seared edges and stay far from the mushy party-slider version.

Burgers- something that is so delicious and easy to make, and for some reason so fun to eat in mini form. Normally, I love to create a thick juicy burger (like my best homemade hamburger recipe!), but I also love a good hamburger slider- or 4!
This recipe is great for a party or just a fun dinner! Cook these up, chop up lots of veggies for toppings, and you have a slider-making station!
Why This Recipe Works
- Authentic - These are true grilled sliders with crispy edges and juicy centers, not baked sandwich-style burgers.
- Flavorful - Cooking on a griddle or grill creates that classic burger sear you just can't replicate in the oven.
- Quick - Small patties cook fast, making this a great option for easy dinners or entertaining.
- Customizable - Top them however you like, from classic cheeseburger style to loaded specialty sliders.

What This Recipe Needs
Ground Beef - The heart of the recipe; a slightly fattier blend keeps the sliders juicy and flavorful.
Slider Buns - Soft buns are essential for holding all the burger goodness without overpowering the patties. I love to use Hawaiian Slider Buns.
Cheese - Melty cheese takes these from good to irresistible. American cheese melts really well, but cheddar and pepper jack are tasty options too.
Onion - Adds classic burger flavor, whether mixed in, grilled alongside, or served raw.
Salt and Pepper - Simple seasoning lets the beef shine.
Butter or Oil for the Griddle - Helps develop a gorgeous crust and keeps the patties from sticking.
Burger Toppings - Pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, and condiments make these fully customizable.

Make sure to serve this hamburger slider recipe up with some homemade mayo and homemade fries for the perfect summer get-together!
Substitutions
- Swap ground beef for ground turkey or ground chicken for a lighter slider.
- Use American, cheddar, or pepper jack, depending on your flavor preference.
- Try potato rolls instead of slider buns for a softer, buttery bite.
- Replace traditional toppings with caramelized onions or sautéed mushrooms for a gourmet spin.
How To Make Hamburger Sliders:

- Step 1: Separate the ground beef into 10 equal portions and roll each into a ball.

- Step 2: Slightly flatten, then sprinkle with salt and pepper.

- Step 3: Heat the cast iron pan or grill griddle with a little oil, then lay the hamburgers in the pan, flip, smash, cook, then flip again.

- Step 4: Using Hawaiian Slider Buns, top your burger with cheese and any and all toppings!
Variations
- Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders - Add crispy bacon for extra indulgence.
- Southwest Sliders- Add green chile or jalapenos for some extra heat.
- BBQ Sliders - Top with barbecue sauce and crispy onions.
- Patty Melt Sliders - Add grilled onions and Swiss cheese for a diner-style twist.
Expert Tips
- Cook on a hot griddle on the grill or cast iron pan on the stove for the best sear and flavor. A cast-iron press is also helpful to smash the patties.
- Toast the buns for extra texture and to keep them from getting soggy.
- Keep patties small and thin so they cook quickly and stay slider-sized.
- Let the cheese melt during the final minute for classic burger-shop goodness.

Frequently Asked Questions
An 80/20 ground beef blend works great for juicy sliders with plenty of flavor.
Both work well, but a griddle gives amazing crust and even cooking.
Avoid overworking the meat and don't overcook the patties.
Typically 2-3 ounces each, slightly larger than the buns since they shrink as they cook.
You can form the patties ahead and refrigerate until ready to grill.
Because they're small, most cook in just a few minutes per side, depending on thickness.
Classic toppings like cheese, pickles, onions, ketchup, and mustard are always a hit.
Yes, press the meat into a 9x13 pan and bake it at 350°F for 20 minutes. Drain off the grease and cut into squares.

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground hamburger
- salt
- pepper
For the sliders
- 10 Hawaiian rolls or Hawaiian Slider Buns
- Cheese optional

- Onion optional
Additional

Instructions
- Divide ground beef into 10 even portions. Roll into balls.1 lb ground hamburger
- Slightly flatten each pattie and sprinkle with salt and pepper.salt, pepper
- Heat vegetable oil in large skillet/fry pan over medium high heat or heat griddle on a grill. This oil will keep the first patties from sticking too much; the additional patties won't need it because of the grease from the cooking hamburgers. - Place a slider* in the pan, cook for ~10 seconds, and smash flat with a large spatula or grill press. Let it cook for 30-1 minute- you want a nice brown crust on it (but not burned!), flip and cook another ~30 seconds -1 minute, repeat with the remaining sliders.
- Slice the slider rolls in half, add your burger, cheese, bacon, and any other toppings you want!10 Hawaiian rolls or Hawaiian Slider Buns, Cheese, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion
