    Shrimp Salad Sandwich close up
    Every bite is delicious!

Iโ€™ve shared a few shrimp recipes over the past, including spicy shrinp tacos, shrimp pad thai, and grilled shrimp kabobs, but this shrimp roll is one of our favorites!

Similar to a lobster roll, this tasty shrimp salad sandwich reminds you of seaside lunches, fresh salty air, and a nice breeze. Packed full of flavor, every bite will feel like mini vacation!

What you need for shrimp salad sandwich:

    • Shrimp- medium, peeled and deveined- I love using Good Rancher's shrimp!
    • Dill- fresh is best if you can get some!
    boiled shrimp ingredients
    • Sandwich: The dressing and salad ingredients are simple but pack a delicious amount of flavor in every bite!
    shrimp salad ingredients
    • Bread: I love to use a hoagie roll and use butter to toast it to crunchy perfection!
    bread and butter ingredients
Toasted bread is the way to go!

There are three parts to this recipe. The first is cooking the shrimp, the second is creating the shrimp salad using the cooked shrimp, and the third is toasting the bread and filling it with the tasty shrimp salad.

Itโ€™s a really simple and flavorful recipe that during spring and summer we canโ€™t get enough of! Itโ€™s so fresh and easy to make that we come back to this over and over again!

Iโ€™ve worked with Good Rancherโ€™s (and eat their meat!) for well over a year now and they sent me their seafood box to make this recipe.

Now, Iโ€™ve shared recipes using their scallops (fried and baked), fried cod, and dijon baked halibut but now I get to share this tasty shrimp salad sandwich with you all!

This recipe is truly so simple and so delicious!

    What is a shrimp roll?

This version is a sandwich in the same style of a New England lobster roll. It is comprised of a toasted bun filled with shrimp salad.

Not to be confused with the spring roll type of shrimp roll that is shrimp and veggies wrapped in rice wrappers, or a sushi shrimp tempura roll.

Shrimp Salad Sandwich on plate with chips
I know you will love this recipe as much as I do!

What to serve with shrimp rolls?

Besides some tasty chips or homemade fries, I recommend a cucumber avocado salad, my Thanksgiving corn, maple bacon brussel sprouts, broccoli coleslaw, or some pepperoni pasta salad.

    Variations:

    • Main Protein: Use crab or lobster instead of shrimp.
    • Eat the shrimp salad out of a bread bowl instead of in a sandwich.
    • Fillings: Try different mustards, add some hard-boiled eggs, or dice some pickles or diced red onions for some extra zing!
    • Add some butter lettuce or tomatoes to the sandwich.

    How to serve shrimp rolls?

These are best eaten cold after the shrimp has had time to meld with the dressing flavors. Toast the bread but donโ€™t add the shrimp salad until you are ready to eat to preserve the crispiness of the bread.

    How to store shrimp salad?

Store the salad in the refrigerate in an air tight container.

How long do shrimp sandwiches last?

The shrimp salad will last 3-4 days in the refrigerator but is best eaten fresh.
