    Grilling shrimp is so easy!

Lots of flavor with a little kick- this grilled shrimp recipe is sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Although I am used to smoking meat I decided to break out the charcoal grill for these tasty shrimp kabobs and it was worth it!

What you need for grilling shrimp:

    • Shrimp
    • Seasoning: garlic powder, salt, red pepper flakes, pepper, paprika
    • Olive oil
    • Lime Juice
    spices on plate for shrimp
You just need a few spices for the seasoning!

    How to prep shrimp?

    • Thaw frozen shrimp under cold water. Then pat dry.

Make sur to thaw under cold water!
    • Mix all the seasonings with the olive oil and lime juice then toss the shrimp in them.
    • Skewer the shrimp along with limes or any other veggies you want.

    These cook up really fast!

    How to grill shrimp?

    1. Brush your grill grate lightly with olive oil. Preheat grill on medium high.
    2. Cook the shrimp kabobs on the grill for 3 minutes, flip, and cook for another three.
    3. When done the shrimp should no longer be see through, but white, pinkish, and opaque (not see through!).

I love to eat this shrimp as is or use it in my pad thai or shrimp roll recipe!

Do you like to pull the shrimp off the skewers or eat them on the skewers?

How long do you cook shrimp in the oven?

    1. Just incase you want to make this recipe in an oven here's how:
    2. To cook shrimp kabobs in the oven simply preheat the oven to 450°F.
    3. Place shrimp and limes on a lightly greased baking sheet (use olive oil or non-stick cooking spray).
    4. Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the shrimp is white and opaque.

What sides go well with grilled shrimp?

Coleslaw, pico de gallo, queso, cucumber avocado salad, and some fresh rolls all go great with grilled shrimp!

    Save this for later!

We'll email this post to you, so you can come back to it later!

Don't worry, I promise not to spam you!

Serve it up alongside a refreshing lemon or limeade and you have yourself a party!

My favorite way to make shrimp is on the stove top, like I did for my delicious spicy shrimp tacos.

How long to store leftover shrimp?

Store shrimp in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.

    Fresh vs Frozen Shrimp

Unless you live beachside, I recommend finding a tasty frozen shrimp that you enjoy. I've had fresh shrimp partially cook on a hot day just bringing it home from the grocery store- so since then frozen is the way to go for me.

I'll typically have some tasty Good Rancher's shrimp on hand and will use that, but if not, a frozen bag of large shrimp from Walmart will do the trick!

Make sure to thaw frozen shrimp under cold running water and cook as soon as it's done thawing.

This grilled shrimp recipe was originally part of my Hearthstone Inspired Menu series and was inspired by the Hearthstone card Tuskarr Fisherman.

This card is from the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion and not only has good stats but a great battle cry! Plus this Tuskarr Fisherman looks like he's ready for a shrimp kabob!
