Why This Recipe Works:
Easy: No need to save or strain turkey drippings-this gravy comes together quickly in less than 5 minutes!
Flavorful: A blend of seasonings and stock creates a rich, savory taste.
Smooth Texture: Whisked carefully for a creamy, lump-free finish.
Versatile: Perfect for topping your favorite sour cream mashed potatoes, hot open faced turkey sandwiches, herb crusted rack of lamb, smoked spatchcock turkey, homemade stuffing, or pouring over some tasty smoked chicken leg quarters!
I always thought you had to have drippings from a roast (like my chuck roast in the oven), Thanksgiving Chicken, or Herb Butter Turkey to make gravy. Which, let's be real, we don't always have that and don't always want to deal with straining the drippings and dealing with the mess just to make gravy.
Once I figured out how incredibly easy it was, I will never buy from the store again. Not only is homemade gravy cheaper, it's way tastier too.

What This Recipe Needs
Broth- chicken, beef, or vegetable works great, keep in mind the flavors of each and what you are putting the gravy on.
Milk- I use 2% but you can use any type or even heavy cream.
Butter- salted or unsalted works fine.
SeasoningI add a little salt and pepper to taste.

How to Make Turkey Gravy Without Drippings:

- Step 1: Mix your flour and melted butter. This will be the thickener for the gravy.

- Step 2: In a saucepan, bring your broth and milk to a boil.
Save this for later!
Don't worry, I promise not to spam you!

- Step 3: Once boiling, add the thickener and simmer for another 1-2 minutes.

- Step 4: Remove from heat and enjoy.
Best Tips for Gravy
- Storing leftovers: Keep leftover gravy refrigerated in an airtight container. Use within 4 days.
- Freezing: You can also freeze this gravy in a freezer-safe container for at least 3 months.
- Reheating: I recommend reheating leftovers in a small saucepan- stirring until warm. You can also reheat in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds, until it is warm throughout.
- Leftovers: Use leftover gravy on open-faced turkey sandwiches, Thanksgiving turkey tacos, sweet potato biscuits, or a turkey cranberry sandwich!

Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely. Strain the drippings and use the liquid. If you don't have 2 cups of drippings, supplement with a bit of broth or even water in a pinch.
If you want your gravy extra thick, mix another tablespoon of flour with melted butter, then add that to the gravy. Boiling the gravy a little longer will also thicken it up, but it will reduce the amount of gravy.
If you add flour straight to the broth, it will clump and not dissolve fully- and no one wants a lumpy gravy!
