Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes Dip is such a fun and tasty holiday treat! Everything reminiscent of your favorite holiday cake made into a dippable dessert!
What’s more to love about the holidays than your favorite treats and traditions?! One such tradition is the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes.
These fun Christmas Tree Cakes debuted in 1985 and have been a family favorite ever since! They are made up of golden cake layers with a smooth cream in between, frosted with a tasty white frosting and decorated with red garland and green sugar sprinkles!
I don’t know if it’s the fun shape, the red and green colors, or the cake itself- but this is a tradition I love to eat up! Now, I’ve turned it into a dip and love to share it with family and friends at their gatherings!

Helpful Tip
Similar to my pumpkin fluff dip, this recipe calls for using frozen whipped topping. Make sure to let it thaw in the refrigerator the night before so it’s easy to mix in!
How to make Christmas tree cake dip?
- Break 7 of the 8 Christmas trees in to chunks.
- Place cake in a large bowl and mix with softened cream cheese, milk, and vanilla.
- Mix until smooth.
- Fold in the frozen whipped topping and ⅓rd of the sprinkles.
- Transfer to your serving dish, cover, and chill until ready to serve.
- Once ready to serve, add sprinkles and place the remaining Christmas Tree cake in the center.
Can you use a food process instead of a mixer?
Yes! Throw the cake, cream cheese, milk, and vanilla into the food processor and process until smooth. Then fold in whipping cream!
What to serve Christmas Tree Cake Dip with?
This dip is great with gingersnap or gingerbread cookies, sugar cookies, vanilla wafers, and graham crackers.
Can you use Little Debbie Chocolate Tree Cakes instead?
Absolutely! Just swap them out and enjoy the extra chocolate goodness!
How to store Christmas Tree Cake Dip?
Store dip in and air tight container, or use plastic wrap to create an air tight seal. Refrigerate dip until ready to be eaten.
Can you make this dip ahead of time?
Yes. Make this dip 1-2 days before your party if you need too! Some liquid might separate so just stir before serving.
Why wait to add sprinkles?
Sprinkles can dissolve and leave blotchy streaks of color if added before you are serving.
If I am serving right away or using nonpareils, I will add a ⅓rd of the sprinkles to the dip while folding in the whipped topping. Nonpareils don't seem to dissolve like other sprinkles.
How long will dip last?
Christmas Tree Cake Dip will last up to 5 days in the refrigerator.
