Simple Spinach Smoothie
You might be thinking spinach in a smoothie? Crazy!
But this smoothie is so tasty- slightly sweet from the banana and packed full of healthy ingredients! And you can’t even taste the spinach.
Remember my chocolate strawberry smoothie? Well there was spinach in that too. I promise you can’t even tell it’s there!
I’ve been making this simple green smoothie, or variations of it for a long time now. It’s a great way to get lots of vitamins and fiber in.
Before getting my Super Q blender from Breville I was using my ordinary everyday blender and was happy with it. But when I tried this recipe in my new blender- oh my!
I had no idea what I was missing out on! I didn’t realize smoothies could be this smooth!
And to top it all off they also gave me the Vac Q to use with the blender which make the smoothies EVEN SMOOTHER! What?!
I didn’t realize that was possible- but it is!
I called my mom after trying my first homemade smoothie in the Super Q and promptly said “this must be how the other half lives!” Haha! Actually smooth smoothies- what a concept!
You all know I love my Breville products. I first bought their food processor a few years ago and was blown away by the quality of it.

Anyways let’s talk about this green smoothie!
How to make spinach smoothie?
Add all the ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth. It’s as simple as that.
Sometimes I add college peptides when I know I need more protein, but you don’t have to. The banana adds a touch of sweetness, the raspberries are a great source of vitams and fiber, and the chia seeds are a great source of fiber and healthy fat. Plus the spinach is packed full of nutrients!
Green smoothie recipes for weight loss or just to get in your daily veggies- either way you can’t go wrong!
What are the benefits of spinach smoothies?
So many vitamins! Spinach contains vitamins A, C, K, Folic Acid, Iron, and Calcium! Not to mention it is a low calorie, low carb veggie! Yes!
Can you put raw spinach in a smoothie?
Absolutely! Fresh spinach is great in a smoothie. Sine I make this smoothie a lot I buy the big bags of spinach and then stick all of the spinach in a Ziploc baggie, then freeze it. That way it doesn’t go bad! No slimy spinach for me.
Check out the difference between the left and right glass.
The left glass is a normal smoothie made in the Super Q blender. The right glass is a smoothie made using the Vac Q in addition to the Super Q blender!
Fun fact: Not only does the Vac Q make smoothies and sauces smoother but it also keeps the colors more vibrant! So cool!
Variations of this green smoothie recipe:
- Add ½ cup of strawberries (this will probably turn the smoother brown just a heads up!)
- Add ½ cup blueberries – a great antioxidant (it will change the color of the smoothie!)
- Add 1-2 tbs cocoa powder and a little bit of sweetener (like sugar, honey, syrup) for a chocolate smoothie
- Use kale instead of spinach
- The sky is the limit!
