Why This Recipe Works
- It’s hard to beat a delicious perfect chocolate chip cookie but when it’s shaped as a heart it makes it all the sweeter!
- Using a heart-shaped silicone mold makes turning cookies into hearts very easy!
- My favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe makes these the perfect heart cookie treat for Valentine’s Day.
- Dipping these cookies in chocolate makes them extra tasty similar to chocolate covered strawberries!
I've made an easy heart cake, heart-shaped Valentine's Cake Pops, and even heart-shaped chocolate sugar cookies, and I knew I needed a great heart chocolate chip cookie recipe too!
What You Need for This Recipe:
- Heart Shaped Mold- This is a must and makes the perfect heart shapes! I used this one.
- Chocolate- I like to use both semi-sweet chocolate chunks and semi-sweet chocolate chips, but you can use all of just one or the other if you like.
- Optional Decorations: Use a variety Candy Melts and Sprinkles for fun designs!

How to Decorate Heart Shaped Cookies?
I like to dip the cookies in candy melts, then sprinkle with fun Valentine Sprinkles, or drizzle with a different candy melt color.
- Step 7: Melt candy melts until smooth.
- Step 8: Dip cookies then add sprinkles.
Tips For the Best Cookies
High Altitude Adjustments: Decrease both sugars to only ⅔ cups. Increase flour to 2 ½ cups and add two 2 teaspoon water when you add your flour.
Instant Pudding Mix: Pudding mix is my “secret” ingredient. It makes the most tender and chewy cookies that everyone loves.
Check Your Silicone Mold Before Baking Every Time: Make sure to check each heart to make sure the indent isn't pressed out. Otherwise, you won't get a nice heart shape but a blob.
Save this for later!
Don't worry, I promise not to spam you!
I love to use an oven safe silicone mold to make these cookes.
Store cookies in an air-tight container like a Ziploc baggie.
Eat within a week for the freshest taste.
Yep! Just make the dough then roll it into balls before freezing. To bake them into hearts after freezing, allow the dough to thaw in the refrigerator then press into the heart molds and bake according to directions.
