12ozCandy Melts in various colors I used bright orange, black, green, and purple
Halloween Sprinkles
24Pretzel Rods
2-5tbsrefined coconut oil or shortening
Instructions
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Or set a cooling rack nearby to place the dipped pretzel rods in so they stand straight up.
Melt candy melts in the microwave. I recommend heating for 30 seconds in the microwave on 50% power, stirring, and repeating until melted. Melt one color of candy melts at a time. You can even take it out of the microwave when there are still a few lumps and let it sit for about a minute, then stir. The residual heat should melt the remaining candy melts.

If the candy melts are too thick, stir in coconut oil 1 tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency. You don’t want to overheat the candy melts and cause them to burn and get clumpy.
Dip the pretzel rods into the melted candy melts, tap off excess chocolate, and place on the prepared baking sheet. Add sprinkles or drizzle with other melted candy melt colors.

If you want to decorate all sides of the pretzel, dip it into candy melts, tap off excess chocolate, add sprinkles to all sides, then place upright in a cooling rack and allow to dry.
Once all pretzels are decorated, allow them to set up and harden for 10-15 minutes. You can also place them in the refrigerator to speed up the process.

Tips and Tricks
Store leftover pretzels in a Ziploc baggie.
Eat within a week for optimal freshness.
I've noticed that different brands and even different microwaves can melt the candies differently.
You can use refined or unrefined coconut oil, or shortening for the candy melts, but refined does not leave a coconut taste, which is what I prefer.
