Buffalo Wing Popcorn

Buffalo Wing Popcorn, a fun and delicious way to celebrate the Big Game! The perfect balance of sweet with a little heat!

  • 2 bags of popped popcorn Orville Redenbacher’s Movie Theater Popcorn
  • 1 cup cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp baking soda


  1. Line 2 baking sheets with foil and preheat oven to 250°F.
  2. Pop popcorn, remove unpopped kernels* and divide between prepared baking sheets.
  3. Melt butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt in sauce pan, bring to a boil stirring constantly.
  4. Once at a boil let boil 5 minutes without stirring.
  5. Remove from heat, stir in hot sauce and return to a boil. Boil for 2 more minutes without stirring.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda and cayenne pepper.
  7. Pour over popcorn and stir to coat the popcorn.*
  8. Bake for an hour stirring every 15 minutes.
  9. Let cool and enjoy!

  10. Store any leftover popcorn in an air tight container.

Recipe Notes

*A trick to get all the unpopped kernels out of the popped popcorn is to place a wire cooling rack on a baking sheet and pour the popped popcorn onto the cooling rack. The rack will let the kernels fall through but not the popcorn.

*By stirring the popcorn during the baking process the coating will spread throughout the popcorn.
