  • 1 lb extra-large raw shrimp * peeled and deveined (frozen or fresh)
  • 1 tbs garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1 tbs lime juice
  • 10 key limes optional

Additional Items:

  • Skewers*

  1. If shrimp are frozen thaw them under cold running water.
  2. Heat up your grill (for alternative cooking methods see the post above)
  3. In a medium sized bowl mix together all the spices, olive oil, and lime juice.
  4. Add in the shrimp and toss to coat. I used my hands to do this but tongs should work well too.
  5. Skewer the shrimp alternating between shrimp and key lime halves.
  6. Brush your grill grate lightly with olive oil. Cook the shrimp kabobs on the grill for 3 minutes, flip, and cook for another three. When done the shrimp should no longer be see through, but white, pink, and opaque (not see through!).
  7. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

*You can easily double or triple this recipe! *I used metal skewers but you can use wooden skewers too. Just make sure to soak the wooden ones to prevent any charring or fires.
