How to freeze corn?

Ingredients

  • 4 ears Fresh Corn

Instructions

  • Remove the husks and silks from the corn.

  • Using a sharp knife carefully cut the kernels from the cob. The corn will cut easily if you don’t cut too deep, into the cob.

  • Place kernels in a pot. Add ¼ of water for every 2.5 cups of corn kernels.

  • Cover and cook for 10 minutes over medium high heat, stirring every two minutes. After 10 minutes, remove lid and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, to reduce some of the liquid.
  • Once done cooking, spread onto baking sheet to cool, then place in a freezer container/bag, label and freeze.

  • To use frozen kernels, heat frozen kernels in pot, over the stove in boiling water for 5 minutes. If using for baked goods, allow kernels to thaw then use in recipe as directed.
